Document accessibility affects billions of people worldwide — yet it often receives far less attention than web accessibility. Most of us create documents every day, but many don’t have the tools, knowledge, or confidence to make them truly accessible.
To help close this gap, we now host two dedicated communities for people passionate about improving document accessibility:
🌍 International Document Accessibility Community
A global LinkedIn group bringing together practitioners, experts, and learners from around the world. We share best practices, run online meet‑ups, offer practical guidance, and support anyone looking to improve accessibility in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PDF and beyond.
🇬🇧 DAPS – Document Accessibility in the Public Sector (UK)
A community for UK public sector colleagues working to improve document accessibility across government. Members collaborate, share approaches, and support each other in building more inclusive content and processes.
Whether you’re new to document accessibility or deeply experienced, both groups offer supportive spaces to learn, connect, and grow.
Let’s raise the standards of document accessibility together.

Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD)
Jon delivered multiple events on Thursday 15th May to celebrate GAAD with over 300 colleagues in attendance for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). He also delivered a GAAD celebration session with colleagues from Parliament.
Sam hosted an Accessibility Bar Open Day to celebrate GAAD with lots of colleagues attending various sessions programmed throughout the day.
